PhD candidate (UdG)
BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Girona and MSc in Marine Biological
Resources (IMBRSea) from Ghent University. Currently, a PhD candidate at the University of
Girona within the project FORESCUE: Innovative approaches FOR RESCUE and management
of algal forests in the Mediterranean Sea, under the supervision of Dr. Sonia de Caralt, Dr.
Emma Cebrian, and Dr. Jana Verdura. My research focuses on understanding the impact of key
stressors—such as temperature, pollutants, and herbivory—on the resilience and recovery
capacity of Mediterranean canopy-forming macroalgal forests, particularly Cystoseira species.
This work aims to inform conservation strategies and enhance the resilience of these critical
ecosystems in the face of both global and local pressures.
