Technician (UB)
Lucas Hayes is a technician working at the Department of Evolutionary Biology, Ecology and Environmental Sciences of the University of Barcelona. He holds a bachelors degree in Marine Science from the University of Barcelona, including a study abroad program at the University of Bergen in Norway. He now works in the long-term monitoring of marine biodiversity of the Medes Islands and Cap de Creus marine reserves, conducting SCUBA surveys, analysing ecological data sets and writing technical reports.
He conducted his Bachelor’s thesis at the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA), studying intertidal rockweed ecology in a mesocosm-based experiment in the Oslo fjord. He has also collaborated in the Marine Forest Genetic Diversity project at the Center for Marine Sciences of the University of the Algarve in Faro, Portugal.
